Anti Social Behaviour

We left our boat to go shopping. On the way I sought out the library and discovered it was close by to the mooring. As, when we left the boat there were 3 youths on the pontoon, on my way back from the library I stopped to check on the boat. On doing this I discovered some 11 youths gathered round and on it.

Before confronting them I took this photograph.

I challenged those closest to the stern deck if it was their boat to which they said yes. I told them this was not so and asked them to leave. When they did not I said I would phone the police. This made no difference so I then dialled 999 and asked for the police.

Whilst talking to the police one of the youths decided to sit on the roof.

I was given an incident no., I'm afraid because I was dealing with this group youths, I had no means of recording this. The police said they would attend as the youths still did not disperse.

When I finished my call the group then did disperse. I followed them a short distance. Some went towards Waitrose whilst others walked across the bridge. These being in opposite directions. I decided it was more prudent to stay with the boat.

The police did attend. Two on bicycles and one in a car. I explained what had happened and told them of my photograph. They looked at this and said it would be of no use. They also said that no action would be taken unless damage had been caused.
