As we cruised between Harefield and Denham we saw this.
We find ourselves on the opposite side of the view expressed and not a little ironic.
Unsympathetic in that the canal in its day was just as, if not more, disruptiove to the environment when it was constructed and faced much vociferous opposition yet it heralded in the Industrial Revolution.
Ironic as withion a mile to the north is the bridge carrying the Chiltern Line from Marlebone and within a mile to the south is the bridge that carries the A40 Western Avenue.
